Republicans Prove They Are Lying About Wanting A Border Solution

The Republicans have been crying about the “border crisis” for a very long time. Yet, they refuse to do anything about it. Instead, they only want it to get worse so they have something to scare the shit out of you in order to gain votes based on fear and hate.

During the Obama administration, Republican and Democrat Senators sat down together and hashed out a compromise immigration reform bill. It passed the Senate with over 60 votes. Yet, the House under Republican control put it in a drawer and failed to act on it. Their reason? It would give Obama another “victory” and they didn’t want that to happen.

Since then, we have heard all sorts of complaints about the so-called “invasion” of immigrants crossing the southern border. We have heard all about the “open border” policy of the administration that have allowed all sorts of “terrorists” to enter out country. The border hysteria has gotten so bad, when there was a traffic accident at a Canadian border crossing resulting in an explosion, the right wing immediately called it a “terrorist attack”.

In fact, the accident was caused by a middle-aged white man returning from a casino after missing a KISS concert. There was no “terrorist attack” but that didn’t stop the right wing from going bonkers once again.

Now, there are some reasonable Republicans who want something done at the border. Hell, even Mitch McConnell wants something done that is reasonable and enforceable. So, he asked Oklahoma Republican Senator Steve Lankford to work out some kind of bill with Democrats. 

Lankford took to the task and sat down with Chuck Shumer to try to get a deal that would pass the Senate and be reasonable in its nature. Last week, they accomplished that task and came up with a bill that they believed would pass the Senate. They came up with a bill that included sweeping reforms and additional funding. It includes most of the things that Republicans have been crying to get.

So, you may think that something is actually going to be done about the problems at the border. WRONG! In their usual manner of not wanting to do anything except cry and cry, Republicans in the House have declared it dead on arrival without even seeing the total package yet.

This denial of trying to fix a problem started with their new House Speaker. Johnson on CNN tried to make it sound like it included nothing Republicans really wanted. He claimed that the compromise proposal only included funding to process migrants more efficiently into the US. When Tapper pointed out that was not true and listed specific provisions Republicans wanted on enforcement, Johnson immediately deflected to a photo-op solution – that Biden should visit the border.

He seems to think that a “photo-op” is the only solution to fixing our immigration problems. Don’t look at a bill, don’t read it, and don’t work to get it passed. Instead, just go to the border and have a photo-op in order to show just how much you really don’t give a shit.

Not all of the things included in this package has been let out to the public. But, many have. There is additional funding to fast-track the adjudication of asylum claims and deportations, increased border security, increase in the number of green cards issued, and a host of other things that many Republicans claimed that they wanted.

So, Republicans have proven once again they are not interested in solutions. Troy Nehls said the quiet part out loud – that Republicans aren’t interested in solving the border problem because doing that might help Biden in the 2024 election. The exact same thing we heard over 10 years ago when John McCain tried to get a compromised immigration reform bill passed while Obama was President.

Johnson went even further to show his disregard for real issues. He said that Congress can’t solve the border problem unless trump is elected or at least a Republican is in the White House. He is saying that only a fascist trump can “solve the border problem” with his mass roundups and mass deportations. Republican solutions to the border issue is to “shut down the border” and get rid of everyone they don’t like. Remember, history has shown us that walls are meant to keep you in as much as someone else out. Just East Germans.

This has become a real problem and shows exactly just how uninterested Republicans are at fixing any problem. Twice in this century, which is only 23 years old, Republicans in the House have refused to take up a bill from the Senate to address the issue they claim is “poisoning the blood of our country”. 

In 2022, they expected a huge “red wave” that would give them a “super majority” in the House and a majority in the Senate. It didn’t happen mostly because they picked the wrong issues. They made abortion bans a priority and the people rejected those proposals. Worse, they nominated several MAGA candidates who fell flat on their faces and lost elections Republicans might have otherwise won.

Today, they need something to hang their hat on. The economy is booming. Inflation has bottomed out. Unemployment is lower than it has been for decades. The economy and stock market are booming together. With all of this, Republicans are struggling to have something they can cry about and try to get votes. Immigration is about all they have left since they failed on every other issue they tried.

As a result, they are hellbent on keeping this bill from having a chance to pass because it would strip them of their last “great hope” of winning an election. And, as long as this is their main topic, it won’t matter who is in the White House, this problem will continue to plague us because Republicans really don’t give a shit about the border “crisis” or all of those “nasty terrorists” they claim are coming to kill us all off. What immigration reform bill did they pass the last the fascist trump was in the White House? Nothing!

No matter how you slice it, Republicans have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they don’t care about issues. They don’t care about the border. They are only interested in “control” and total “authority” over your lives and family. 

Just more reasons to kick the lazy bums out of office this year. We cannot afford a party that doesn’t care about our country, our people or our security. Crying in your beer doesn’t make you effective. It just proves you are totally worthless. Refusing to take up bills that make things better for the people proves you are anti-American and anti-democracy.

It is time for these sewer rats to be sent packing back to the sewers they crawled out from. We do have problems and we need real men and women to solve them not just complain and bitch about them. Not doing anything about problems except blaming someone else is fascism not democracy. Think about that when you head to the polls.

The Meaning Of GOP – Gaggle Of The Pathetic – Today’s Republican Party

There is a bunch of crap facing us as a nation today. The government still hasn’t been fully funded for the 2024 fiscal year. There are wars in Israel and Ukraine. And, maybe some tougher immigration reforms that Republicans always punt down the road.

So, yesterday the Republicans passed two HUGE measures to “help America”. The first was the kangaroo court action voting to formally hold “impeachment inquiries” into the President. The second was all about “milk”. 

Now, you may be wondering just what milk has to do with Congress and that is a reasonable question. For decades, the USDA has issued a guideline that school lunch programs serve low fat or fat free milk. There is nothing lost in nutrients or proteins or anything else in low fat milk. Low fat milk does not have the saturated fats that are present in whole milk. It is the saturated fats that help cause heart and other problems.

But, that is not important to our Republican friends. No, they need something to complain and bitch about, so milk has now come to the forefront of their utter stupidity. I guess Virginia Foxx (R-NC) showed the stupidity of their problem with low fat milk.

In her rant she said Santa Claus needs to drink whole milk “to travel the whole globe in one night,” perhaps confusing the effects of dairy with amphetamines. “Protein helps build and repair Santa’s muscles. Hoisting heavy sacks of gifts up and down the chimney is no easy task.”

“You see, it’s not just the magic of the season that helps Santa deliver presents worldwide. It’s also the fortifying nutrients of whole milk,” Foxx continued. “Reflecting on Christmas traditions this year begs the question, ‘If whole milk is a good option to fuel Santa’s extraordinary Christmas Eve journey, then why isn’t it an option for American schoolchildren in their lunchrooms?’”

Wow! I never knew that “whole milk” is the reason that Santa can travel the world in one night and pass out all of those presents. I only have one question for her, do you have any of whatever you are taking left? That is a really doozy and really stupid comment. 

With all of the real problems we face, Republicans decided to “make a stand in favor of whole milk”. I can personally say that low fat milk does not harm you and is better for your health. I drink 1% milk all of the time. I used to drink whole milk, but I had to stop. When I was stationed on Guam, I could not drink the local milk because it contained coconut. I am allergic to coconut. When we came back, I ordered a glass of whole milk and couldn’t finish it. It was like drinking liquid cement after not having it for two years. 

The second major vote was to formally hold impeachment inquiries against the President. This “inquiry” has been going on for about a year because McCarthy, the former Speaker, decided he did not need a vote to hold them. During that time, nothing has come up to show that the President did anything even remotely impeachable. But, this is an election year and Republicans decided holding “formal” impeachment hearings will “hurt Biden’s” election chances.

But all you need to do to figure this as a political stunt and nothing more is to listen to the two leading figures trying to make this stick. One is Gym Jordan and the other is James Comer. The major reason for this vote is because Republicans think it will “force” everyone they subpoena to be forced to testify. Jordan said “when Congress asks you to come testify, you are supposed to come testify”.

This is the same Gym Jordan who was subpoenaed by the Jan. 6 Committee and refused to submit to that subpoena. He also voted against holding Steve Bannon and Mark Meadows in contempt of Congress for refusing to submit to questioning under subpoenas issued to them. Now he claims that if you receive a subpoena from Congress “you must come and testify”. Can you say hypocrisy?

Now this is all in light of the two wanting to hold Hunter Biden in contempt for not submitting to their subpoena. Hunter Biden did show up in Washington and said he would gladly testify before the committee but only in a “public hearing”. Comer refuses to hold a public hearing for his testimony. Just what is he afraid is going to happen? If you want testimony and “transparency” in this case, then why not let him testify in a public hearing?

The answer is obvious. They don’t want transparency. They want secret testimony so they can pick out the parts they like and leak them to the press to make both Hunter and his father look bad. Plus, they don’t want the American people to hear the questions Democrats on the committee might ask and the answers they would get.

Comer has been running around talking on right-wing media to explain why he doesn’t want Hunter Biden testifying in a public hearing. He keeps saying that he “doesn’t want Democrats being able to engage in questioning in public hearings”. How is that for transparency and democracy?

The fact is that trump wants an impeachment of Biden in “revenge” for his two impeachments while President. He has called for this inquiry for years because he wants revenge. Republicans have produced not one piece of reasonable evidence that President Biden did anything wrong, illegal or impeachable. Even their own “key witnesses” have said the same thing in hearings. Yet, they are willing to do their “dear leaders” bidding. As Republica Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), simply said “Donald J. Trump 2024 baby” when a reporter asked about the vote on Wednesday. That is the only reason for this vote and these hearings.

As you can see Republicans still have no plans for the American people. They still have no policies they can sell to us to make us vote for them. They are not interested in the country or its people. They are only interested in running to right wing media to complain and bitch and make everyone else to blame for any problems. They have proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they are NOT interested in governing. Just more reasons why these morons must be voted out of office from the top to the bottom of every ticket in the country next year.

As you can see, today’s Republican party has redefined the term GOP from meaning the Grand ole Party to the Gaggle Of the Pathetic. 

Where Have All The Flowers Gone? Onto The Graves Of The Innocent

Here we go again. Just when the hell is this madness going to stop? Well, as long as a person’s right to carry a military style weapon is more important than the lives of the innocent, including children, it won’t stop. It will continue to get worse and worse.

In the latest attack, an Army Reservist shot and killed at least 18 people in two different locations in Lewiston, ME. This incident is a perfect example of just how disjointed Republican arguments against gun control really are. This incident proves beyond a reasonable doubt that these Republican talking points are bogus and outright lies.

The shooter, and I won’t give him credit by naming him, proves just how useless Republican controlled states are at protecting their own citizens from these kinds of people.

Here is what we know so far. The shooter was assigned to support training with the Army Reserve’s 3rd Battalion, 304th Infantry Regiment in West Point, New York, when commanders became concerned about him. He was taken to the Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point for evaluation.

It has been reported that the shooter complained about “hearing voices” and reportedly wanted to “shoot up” the Army facility he was assigned. He was apparently appraised and later released.

Here is where the lies come into place. In Maine there is no Red Flag law. They have instead a Yellow Flag law. This laws says that police must seek medical evaluation of anyone believed to be a danger before trying to take their guns away. Well, this person did have a medical evaluation yet he still had his guns and no one tried to take them away.

That is not all that surprising. Remember in 2017, the very first law passed by Republicans when they took over the government was to make it legal for anyone who is not capable of taking care of themselves or their personal business to own a gun.

There is also a case before the Supreme Court that says a person who threatened several women and was under a protection order from the court, cannot have his weapons removed from him. Several ultra-conservative organizations are supporting this person even though he was arrested for his threats against women.

Republicans love to say that these mass shootings are the result of “mental problems” and not guns. Yet, time after time they pass laws that allow these people with “mental problems” to keep or even purchase guns.

This was the 36th mass shooting in our country this year. Over 200 people have been killed and thousands have been wounded in these shootings. We have seen shootings at movie theaters, concerts, bars, churches and worse schools. Yet nothing is being done to prevent these killings.

As always, Republicans say “this is not the time to talk about legislation” concerning guns because we need to grieve the dead. Then they simply refuse to talk about it later because they apparently want more and more of us to be killed going about our daily lives.

The new Speaker said that it isn’t guns “it is the human heart”. NO!!! It is guns you clown! If we continue to make gun ownership the only “absolute” right in our nation, we will continue to see our neighbors and our children become victims of mass shootings. And, it is this lazy argument that is making this all possible.

Then we have the political violent speech from several Republican officials. Like “looters should be shot and killed on sight”, trump. Or, “anyone crossing the border carrying a backpack should be shot and killed”, DeSantis. Or, “we will place barbed wire below the surface of the Rio Grande river to stop immigrants trying to cross into our country”, Abbott. Of course this barbed wire is really a death trap intended to kill immigrants and it has already.

There is more and more violent rhetoric coming out of the mouths of Republican politicians. Is it any wonder that we are seeing more and more deaths because of this speech? Take that together with super lax gun laws, and the recipe for death increases. In Maine, you do not need a license to own or carry a gun so anyone can get one whenever they want.

Our nation faces an epidemic of gun violence. Allowing everyone to have a weapon is not the answer. We need reasonable gun laws to keep us safer and allow our children to grow up without fear of being shot by someone. The Speaker says that it is “the human heart” that is the cause. Well, there are “human hearts” in the rest of the developed world yet we are the number one leader is mass shootings. No one else even comes close.

Other developed nations allow people to own guns, but they have strict laws concerning the ownership of those guns. As a result, they don’t have the huge numbers of innocent people being killed by a mass shooter. So, it IS THE GUNS that is the real problem.

Did you know that there are more guns on the streets of America than there are people? How is that even possible considering many Americans don’t own a gun? When assault weapons were banned in the 1990s, mass shootings decreased for the ten years the law was in tact. Since Republicans repealed it, the number of mass killings have soared.

As you can see, there is a direct correlation between guns and mass killings. These numbers are confirmed by FBI statistics. We must ban assault weapons mainly because it is the right thing to do but also because they have no purpose but to kill people.

There is an old anti-war song called “Where Have All The Flowers Gone”. In today’s America it is clear where they have gone. They are being placed on the graves of the hundreds upon hundreds of dead innocents who were killed by mass shooters.

NOW is the time to act and do something about these guns. Remember, no one is saying the second amendment should be repealed. All we are asking for is reasonable laws to keep weapons out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them in the first place. The vast majority, about 75 percent, want reasonable gun safety laws, including gun owners.

Republicans claim to be “pro-life” because of their opposition to abortion. You cannot be “pro-life” if you continue to allow mass killing and not doing something to stop it. Once again their lies are exposed for what they are. Mere political talking points without any meaning. All in the name of donations from gun manufacturers for their campaigns. Pathetic!

Today – “The Clown Show Part Two” Proudly Brought To You By The Republican Party

Today we will witness the Republicans in the House of Representatives present “The Clown Show – Part Two”. Today, the crazy caucus will attempt to get Gym Jordan elected as the Speaker of the House. God help us.

The first thing you need to know is that the crazy caucus is trying to flex their muscles to show America that they are really in control. They claim they will win the “fight” and get their man elected. However, there are 20 so-called moderate Republicans who will nominate someone else for the post. If even half of these Republicans hold the line, Jordan cannot win the election to become Speaker of the House.

The second thing you need to know is that since Gym Jordan has been in the House, he has not gotten a single piece of legislation passed through the House. Even when Republicans controlled both chambers and the White House. He has done absolutely nothing since being elected except vote no on everything then run to Fox News to bitch, complain and make false accusations against everyone who does not agree with him.

As a result, the Republicans supporting him actually want a House of Representatives that does nothing and collects their paychecks while running to Fox News telling us how everything is the other side’s fault. Hell, they even tried to blame President Biden for McCarthy’s ouster. How pathetic can you actually become?

Gym Jordan told reporters since he was nominated that “America want me as Speaker of the House”. Yeah, like America wants syphilis! The difference between Jordan and syphilis is that there is a cure for syphilis. There is no cure for utter incompetence and stupidity.

We also have to look at what the real reason for this chaos is all about. This isn’t about anything to do with spending cuts or anything to do with actually governing. No, this is just a tactic by the crazy caucus to shut down the government.

In one month, the government will be forced to shut down because we don’t have a budget. And, that is what the crazy caucus wants. They actually want to create economic havoc on our nation. They want to tear down and even burn down our government. They have no plans and they have no desire to actually work.

One Republican Congressman even said so openly. He said “there are people in our caucus that don’t want to be the majority. They prefer to be the minority so they can vote no on everything then run around screaming and yelling about nothing”.

Gym Jordan is one of the leaders of this crazy caucus in the Republican Party. He is an insurrectionist who knew about the January 6 insurrection against the government before it took place. He refused to testify before the Jan 6 Committee even though he was subpoenaed to do so. He spoke with the former guy for at least 10 minutes the morning the insurrection took place and refuses to say what they discussed.

Gym Jordan voted not to certify the duly elected Joe Biden and certify the election of 2020 and has continuously said the election was stolen. Remember, he was also elected in 2020. So, if the election was stolen, then isn’t he the benefactor of a stolen election and should resign?

We cannot count on Gym Jordan and his crazy caucus to get a budget passed or even bring a continuing resolution up for a vote if he is elected as Speaker. He will refuse to work with Democrats to keep the government open and do the work of the people.

There are only two solutions as I see it to this chaos from the crazy caucus led by Gym Jordan. One is for these so-called moderate Republicans to face the truth and switch parties thus giving the Democrats the majority and get to work.

The second option if for these same Republicans to speak with Democrats and strike a deal to have a “coalition” government. That would also mean a Democrat would become the Speaker and we would see work being done.

However, neither of these two options will happen. The reason is because these so-called “moderate” Republicans are terrified that they will be “primaried” by someone who wants to be part of the crazy caucus. Their position and title is far more important to them then the fate of the nation.

There is a whole bunch of shit going on that needs the attention of the House of Representatives. We need the budget passed or at least the continuing resolution extended so the government can continue to function. There are the wars in Ukraine and Israel that needs attention. We need real immigration reform to help with the border situation.

What we need is a Republican Party that is interested in WORKING and GOVERNING and not playing stupid games. We need a Republican Party that puts the American people before their stupid titles and politics.

The problem is that with someone like Gym Jordan as the favorite to become the next Speaker, we won’t see that Republican Party anytime soon. The crazies got concessions from the last Speaker that make governing by a Republican Speaker impossible. That job is now at the mercy of the crazy caucus and they will never be satisfied with anything.

Today will see the debut of “The Clown Show – Part Two” presented by the Republican Party. It is funded by the RNC who wants to burn down our government and co-directed by the crazy caucus led by Gym Jordan and Matt Gaetz.

As I see it, at the end of the day we will either have no Speaker of the House or one on a par with giving America syphilis. Either way, we the people lose, again thanks to the Republican crazies.

Just more reasons we need to defeat the Republicans in huge numbers next November. Otherwise, we will all face the serious consequences.

In The Conflict In Israel We See The Results Of Intolerance

The war between Hamas and Israel is giving the world a very good look at the one thing that plagues societies all around the world, and is probably the major cause of wars. This thing comes in many names. It is bigotry, hate, homophobia, xenophobia, racism, and many more. This one thing is Intolerance.

That is something that we as Americans need to look into the mirror and realize that what has been happening in our own country is something that causes division among people and leads to violence and even wars. It is what causes the inhumane treatment of others and acts of war crimes against civilians.

This brutal inhumane attack by Hamas against the citizens of Israel is a perfect example of that intolerance creating such crude violence. The images of the animalistic brutality and murder of civilians cannot be excused nor justified. It is the fact that it is made possible because of intolerance.

We have witnessed such violence all too often in the history of the human race. It has plagued societies throughout history. It is not a one-way street either. There are lots of things that can said about the causes of this attack and quite frankly both sides are to blame. However, this is not about who is to blame, it is about how intolerance leads to such events as we are witnessing today.

Intolerance is something that feeds hate. It festers in humans until it boils over into violence and murder. Intolerance is part of the root causes of hate and is fed by many things. As I wrote many times here one of the major causes of this intolerance and hate is religious beliefs. Too often the fight is over whose god is better than the other gods. That is very true in the Mideast between Jews and Muslims.

But that isn’t the only place you find it on display. We have witnessed the rise of intolerance in our own country. There are thousands if not millions of people who simply hate others because they are different. The number one cause of this intolerance and hate is religion. In our country it is surrounded by so-called Christians. It feeds the belief that their god is better than any other god and thus we must all follow the dictates of their god and allow ourselves to be ruled by those principles.

We have seen it in laws being passed to make it harder for certain segments of people to vote. We have seen it in laws passed to deny medical treatment for certain groups of people because they are different. We have seen it in laws passed to ban books because some people don’t like the content. We have seen it manifested when a person running for president says “immigrants are poisoning our blood”.

We have been subjected to it through the so-called Second Amendment fights. The people who are insisting that everyone should have a gun no matter the circumstances are the very people who pass such hate laws and are considered by most people as ultra-conservative extremists and white supremacists.

In our own country we have witnessed hate attacks grow over the last eight years. We have watched as synagogues have been burned or attendees gunned down by antisemites. We have listened to antisemites openly try to stir up hate against Jews in our country. We have listened to extremists rage against Muslims and other “non-christians” in our country. The whole mess at our southern border is not really over immigration, it is about too many people of color immigrating to our country.

Attacks on Jews, Blacks, Latinos, Asians, Muslims, homosexuals, transgenders, women and others have exploded over the last eight years. This violence has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Americans simply because they are “different” and “not like us”.

This intolerance and hate has been fed by certain members of a certain political party. We hear it from their politicians all of the time. Many of members of that party attend white supremacist and antisemitic rallies in order to get the votes of the intolerant.

This intolerance leads to fascism and authoritarianism. It leads to deaths of people who are different. 20th Century history proves just how terrible intolerance can become.

As we have seen throughout history, if one group overcomes those who they are intolerant over, they need a different target and then go after them. The stream of hate and intolerance does not end when the “”enemy” is defeated. It merely moves to the next target of hate and intolerance.

The devastating tragedy unraveling in Israel and Gaza is showing us just how evil intolerance of others can be. It is showing us that if we continue to allow this intolerance and hate to fester in our own country, we could face something similar or even worse. We could allow this intolerance and hate to change our nation for evil and power grabbing intolerant haters to rule over us.

We cannot afford to allow this intolerance to take a firm grasp on our society. We are a nation “for the people” not a nation for the powerful. Our Constitution begins with the words “We the people” not “we the rulers”. We are watching, today, just how much chaos extremism can cause.

The House of Representatives does not have a Speaker of the House because of extremists from the far right. These extremists are doing everything they can to bring down our nation and take it to an authoritarian nation. They don’t care about the people of our nation nor the Constitution they are sworn to protect.

Instead they are sewing the seeds of our destruction fed by intolerance and hate of anyone not in agreement with their extremist views. To me, they are anti-Americans who want to destroy our nation for the sake of power so they can spread their intolerance and “get rid” of those they hate.

If you bother to look at the real causes of the new war in Israel, I am certain you will discover that intolerance and hate of each other has led to this tragedy. And, if you really look around you in America today, you will discover that same intolerance and hate rising among many of our own people. The end results can only be violence, murder and more hate. That is not something I served our country for it to become.

My heart goes out to all of the people of Israel and the innocent people living in Gaza. This tragedy is going to kill thousands of innocent people who do not agree with the extremists on either side. Yet, they will be the victims of this hate-filled war. Let us hope this senseless tragedy ends soon.

But, don’t take your eye off our own situation either. We hold an election next year, and the extremists must be removed from office before this intolerance and hate grows further.

House of Representatives Or “Outhouse”?

The GOP has turned our House of Representatives into an outhouse that usually sits behind a shack in the woods. The reason for this move is because there is absolutely no leadership in the House of Representatives. The Speaker of the House position is empty with no one actually being the Speaker. This has become all too clear over the last year or so.

Kevin McCarthy is so mealy-mouthed that he has no concept of leadership nor any concept of governance. Either that or he simply doesn’t care about either and just wants the title and perks that go with the office. He has shown his total incompetence in even trying to hold his own caucus together. And, the worst part is that he seems to relish his incompetence.

Let’s take a look at just a few things that we have witnessed just in the last week or two. We are facing the potential of another Republican caused government shutdown. McCarthy cannot get his own caucus to respect the deal he made with President Biden over the debt limit bill passed. In that deal, he pledged, as well as the Republicans in Congress, that they would cap the budget for 2024 at 2023 levels.

That sounded like a good deal until Republicans started reneging on that deal and demanding huge cuts to the budget. McCarthy as always, caved to the extremists in his caucus and now the government is facing another shutdown caused by Republicans. But, the major stumbling block for the next budget is the extremists views on abortion. Every single budget bill for every agency in the Government includes anti-abortion riders.

It doesn’t matter what the agency is they are talking about, those anti-abortion riders are included and they are causing the bills to fail or be pulled from a vote because moderate Republicans don’t want them in the bills. McCarthy won’t pull the riders and tell the extremists to use other measures to try to push their stupid views on the American people. No, he pulls the bills from a vote and hides in his closet to avoid a real discussion on the issue, which the vast majority of Americans believe that abortion should be legal and the woman’s choice.

He announced this week that he asked several committees to open up “impeachment inquiries” against President Biden. He did this for two reasons. First, it came out that trump met with the wackos of the Republican party and declared he wanted this inquiry and they went along with it. Secondly, he opened it because the extremists in his party vowed to shut down the government if he did not open an inquiry.

Now that he has done what they wanted, the extremists are claiming that he is “gaslighting” his own party because “he really does not want to impeach the President”. Of course in all of the so-called “hearings” being held in the House, not one piece of actual evidence has been shown to indicate that the President has done anything illegal or improper. All they have uncovered is inuendo and false accusations that have all fallen apart in their own hearings.

Once again we have the extremists in the Republican party playing Russian Roulette with our government and our economy over things that have nothing to do with how our government should work. They are doing everything they can to undo our government in order to make headlines for their wacko base. And, McCarthy is letting them get away with it again. He has no backbone and no desire to be a real Speaker of the House and take care of the business of the Government.

Finally, and this is a real thorn in my side we have the stupid bubble headed nutjob from Georgia knows as MTG. If this woman had one more brain cell in her head, it would die from loneliness. She not only doesn’t have a clue about government and how it is supposed to work, she is actively suggesting that “states consider seceding from the United States”.

On the 22nd anniversary of the horrible 9/11 terrorist attack on our country, she declared that if a state doesn’t like the border situation, they should consider secession. Here we have a sitting member of the House of Representatives actually calling for this nation to split up. Needless to say that would result in another civil war with millions of people being killed.

There is no other way to say this, that statement is treasonous against the nation she is supposed to be representing. It cannot be considered as “free speech”, because the constitution says “seditious and treasonous” speech is not protected speech.

Yet, McCarthy has said nothing about this act of treason. He has not declared the comments even as “inappropriate”. He has allowed them to sit and stir in the minds of those who want to destroy our nation. McCarthy is so afraid of actually doing his job, that he allows such treasonous talk from members of his own caucus because he is afraid of losing his title.

I am going to say this on a personal note. I am a 20 year veteran of our military. I took an oath to protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. MTG is, in my opinion a domestic enemy to the Constitution with comments like this one. Also, on September 11, 2001, I lost 5 colleagues, two of which were good friends in the attacks. They lost their lives trying to save others.

It was a brutal time for all of us who love our country, and this woman, and I would prefer to use another word, says states should consider seceding from the union on the anniversary of that horrible day. That is the very definition of treason and she should be held accountable for it.

Itis time for such speech to be investigated. MTG should be thrown out of office by the House. Not allowed to resign, but be thrown out in disgrace for her treasonous behavior. But, McCarthy won’t dare to even consider that because he is nothing but a wet blanket pretending to be someone important.

We have a political party, the Republicans, who made a pact with the devil and is now stuck with the results. The extremists and white supremacists have taken over the party. They have no policies except to bash our great nation and try to destroy our democracy.

Kevin McCarty with his cowardice, has turned the House of Representatives of the United States of America into its “outhouse”. It has become a place where autocratic wackos and white supremacists go to shit on America and our democratic way of life.

This is the party that wants to rule over us for eternity. We must vote the bastards out of office from the national level right down to the local level. It is the only way to ensure a democratic future for our children and grandchildren.

I Am Sick Of Republican “Tough Guy” Cartoon Shows – Aren’t You?

Let’s be real for a minute. We are approaching the 2024 election cycle. There are some real problems we face as a nation that need serious discussion and solutions. Yet, they are always put in the background by one party over something really stupid.

Just this week, we have had 3 people shot and killed by a racist in a Dollar General store in Florida. We have had a professor at the University of North Carolina shot and killed during school hours on campus. We have had a 4 year girl shot and killed by a woman who claims she was “teaching the girl gun safety.

In the richest country in the world, we have 23 million children who are considered “food insecure”. We have roughly 20 million people who do not have proper health care insurance. Even during this booming economy.

Those are just a few things that need to be taken seriously. There are others like the rampant obesity and the fact that we are leading the industrialized world in maternity deaths during delivery. But, don’t tell Republicans about any of this and especially don’t ask them what they plan to do about them if they get power.

No, they have far more important things to “discuss” or rather cry about. The idea of actually working for you the people of this country doesn’t register on their radar and they are far more interested in making up stories and lying about them to make you believe they are all true. Naturally, they are intended to make themselves look like “victims” which is how they think they will gain power.

We all watched the Bud Light mess over one single thing to do with a transgender person. We watched them tell us how “the government is coming for your gas stoves”. They have now discovered another vainly and stupid to complain about. How much alcohol it is RECOMENDED you drink per day.

A little background. In this country, health experts have recommended, for years, that an adult male drink no more than two beers per day and that an adult woman drink no more than one beer per day. Note: the idea of “beer” is used as a measuring stick for alcohol consumption.

These are RECOMMENDATIONS and not law. However, these recommendations can change in the next few years. For example, in Canada, the recommendations were the same until recently when they changed their recommendations to two beers per week instead of per day.

That change in recommendations is considered possible in the U.S. but it can’t happen until at least 2025. Remember these are RECOMMENDATIONS intended to help us maintain better health conditions. They are NOT LAW and never will be.

That doesn’t stop Republicans from spreading their horrific lies. They are trying to make it sound like the government is going to force us to only drink two beers per week. So, up steps one of the biggest clowns in the Republican party, the Canadian Senator from Texas, Ted Cruz.

He went on Newsmax and cried and boo-hooed about the possibility of new recommendations. In his rant he said: “these idiots want people to limit drinking to two beers a week. That’s their guideline!” First off that is not the guidelines.

Then he went on and said “They can kiss my ass!” Then he took a sip from a bottle of beer. Actually, when he took his sip he was so awkward that he looked like he was choking on it. Now, I don’t know for sure, but Cruz looks to me more like a martini type of guy not a beer slugging type of guy.

All of this was to show “what a tough guy he is”. You know the same “tough guy” who kissed trump’s ass after trump called his wife ugly. The same “tough guy” who flew his state during an ice storm and went to Cancun.

This whole cartoon show is getting genuinely ridiculous. I believe that if the Surgeon General came out with a recommendation that you should “not punch yourself very hard in the nuts”, these Republicans would blow a lid over it and start showing up on Newsmax punching themselves hard in the nuts to show how “tough” they are.

It is time to show just how stupid and ridiculous the Republican Party has become. We suffer from a pandemic of gun violence, no health care for everyone, and other real problems that real Americans face every day. And, the best the Republican Party can come up with is a cartoon show about how tough they are by “rejecting the recommendations” about alcohol consumption.

But, when you look at what it really is, you can see just how they intend to get elected. By scaring the shit out of you with lies and falsehoods. It is just like “brown people are coming to your neighborhood to commit crimes”. Now it is “how much beer you should drink”.

These are the same people who still defend trump. I still can’t get over the idea that six of the eight candidates for the Republican nomination publicly showed that they would “support trump as their candidate even if he was convicted of crimes.

So, they put on these cartoon shows to show “how tough they are” and avoid answering any questions concerning the real issues we face as a people. Whether or not you agree or like them, Democrats are trying to offer solutions to our problems. Republicans are too busy defending a four time indicted former guy and showing us cartoons wailing about “recommendations” intended to keep us healthier.

We simply MUST vote the clowns and their cartoon shows out of office next year. We must vote them out from President all the way to dog catcher. It is the only way we can at least try to become serious about serious problems and hopefully fix most of them.

If you don’t think these Republicans are dangerous to our way of life and just being clownish, look around at how many children cry when they first see a clown. Clowns terrify more children than make laugh because of their goofy makeup.

If you wipe off the clown makeup from the faces of Republicans, you will discover mini-Putins under it all. That is not what our country is about or ever should be.

GOP Gives 24 Hours Of Their Horror Vision For America – Capped Off With The “Kubrick Stare”

In the last 24 hours, the GOP gave America a clear vision of the horror they intend to unleash upon us. Now, you must remember that this is the party that is crying about crime and wanting “law and order” but their actions are completely opposite from their rhetoric. They want to defund the FBI and the Special Counsel’s office that indicted trump.

In a stunning example of just how they are against “law and order” the candidates on the debate stage the other night were asked if they “would still support trump as the nominee even if he was convicted of one of his crimes?” SIX of the eight people on stage, including Pence who the mob wanted to hang on Jan. 6, raised their hands.

The other thing to take into consideration is this simple fact. In every state in the union, if you are convicted of felony, you are not allowed to vote in any elections. At least for a period of time. So, if you are convicted of a felony, how is it that you can actually be a candidate in an election you are not allowed to vote in?

A couple of years ago, the citizens in Florida voted to allow convicted felons to vote once they served their sentences. Yet, the Ayatollah DeSantis made it nearly impossible for that measure to go through by adding a new law that said these convicted felons who served their time had to pay all sorts of fees in order to gain the right to vote again.

And, there he was with hand in the air saying he would support trump even if he was convicted of felony charges. How is that for showing who truly is running a two-tiered justice system? If convicted, trump would not be allowed to vote in Florida, yet that governor is willing to let him be elected. To put it plainly, WTF?

Then we have that ridiculous mug shot of trump in Georgia. People, especially his own people, have said that he was showing how “tough” he is and how he “won’t bow down” to the prosecutors. Some even claim it was an attempt to intimidate the prosecutors and judge and potential jurors.

However, when I first saw it, I immediately went to Stanly Kubrick’s films. The mug shot shows the exact face that is famous in Kubrick films. It is known as the Kubrick Stare. In these shots, the character stares into the camera with his head slightly tilted forward. This is a technique that Kubrick uses in order to let the audience know that the character is at the peak of his derangement.

If you look at the mug shot above and compare it to some of the deranged characters in films like “A Clockwork Orange” and the “Shining” you will see the exact pose by the characters to show just how deranged they really are. So, it is apparent that trump wants to show America that he has reached the peak of his derangement.

The GOP debate was a farce with no one, except maybe Christie blasting the so-called front runner. They all stood around and told America their vision of what our country should be like and it was all CONTRARY what polls show Americans want. For example they all want a national ban on abortion, but the polls show that 75 percent of the people are in favor of abortion rights.

The softball interview the deranged trump had with Tucker Carlson to take people away from the debate was an even bigger joke. Carlson had his head so far up trump’s ass he won’t be able to clearly see for at least a month. Then we have the infamous mug shot where trump shows just how deranged he actually is.

All of this horror show took place in the last 24 hours. This is what the GOP wants you to support. They want you to go against your own views and beliefs and vote for these wackos who don’t give a shit about you. They want you to believe all of the lies of the former guy and vote for him. Six of the eight people on that debate stage for the “law and order” party said they would support trump even if he is convicted of any of his many indicted crimes.

The items discussed are not what takes place in a democracy. It’s what happens in an autocracy. In an autocracy, even felons can run the country and turn his vengeance on his political opponents. In an autocracy your opinion or beliefs don’t mean a damn thing only the opinions and beliefs of those in power.

That is fact, this is exactly what the GOP wants us to become as a nation. Their only goal is power for themselves which would lead to enrichment of themselves, just ask Putin’s allies. You, your children, your grandchildren and everyone around you simply don’t matter.

The proof is in the pudding. Not one candidate on that stage had any real policies or goals to make your lives better. All they did was whine and complain and pretend to be victims. That is NOT who I want running our government.

For the sake of your children and grandchildren as well as the nation, we must vote these clowns out of office up and down the ballot come next November. Otherwise, our fate will be in the hands of the deranged. When you vote, remember the trump version of the Kubrick Stare. That should scare you to your senses.

Opinion: Fox News Personalities Are “Evil With A Microphone”

We need to start talking bluntly about the evils we have to put up with in our country. There is a major push towards autocracy, and the right wing news outlets are leading this charge. We heard all the garbage about COVID and the pandemic, now we are hearing the same garbage all over again over a different health problem.

Canada has major wildfires raging all across the country. These wildfires, especially the ones in Quebec are causing air pollution in some parts of our country. On the East Coast, the smog being created by these fires has made the air in New England and New York almost unbreathable.

It is so bad, Major League Baseball cancelled games in New York and Philadelphia because of the dangers the air could cause the players and fans during the game. I live in North Carolina and we are seeing the effects of this pollution. Today we have an “Orange Air Quality Alert” meaning the air quality is rated as hazardous.

In the areas affected, public health officials are telling people to stay indoors as much as possible, and if you do go out wear a mask. Sensible recommendations to avoid what could become a killer smog. These recommendations are especially necessary for those with asthma, COPD, heart conditions, and other health problems.

But as we saw with the COVID pandemic, reasonable safety precautions to protect yourself from harmful effects from things like this pollution are totally disapproved of by the personalities at Fox News. Somehow, Americans taking safety protections to protect their health and maybe even their lives are something we should never do according to these clowns.

At Fox News, personalities like Jeanine Piro, Jesse Watters and Sean Hannity all went crazy about these reasonable precautions. They all went on rants about them and tried to make them another political football to use against the “libs”.

Jeanine Piro had this to say: “While Americans choke on the smoke, the far left smells an opportunity”, and tried to turn it into an attack on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and her signature Green New Deal.

Oscasio-Cortez “says that we must, quote, ‘Adapt our food systems, energy grids, infrastructure, and health care to prepare for what’s to come,’” mocked Pirro. “Other Democrats are pumping up climate hysteria and bringing back, you guessed it, mask insanity.”

Jesse Watters went on his own rant mostly blaming “our stupid neighbors to the north” and the suggestion of wearing a mask when outdoors. He seems to have failed to remember that we, the United States, has a history of wildfires and that the smoke from those fires affect our “stupid neighbors to the north” as well as many people in our own country.

Sean Hannity couldn’t be upstaged by these two. He had to weigh in as well. On his show he said: “I’m like, ‘I’m walking in the same place you’re walking in and I don’t feel a thing.’ And I’m trying to understand. I work out regularly. So, I think I’m relatively in tune with my body,” he explained. “I think if I was having difficulty breathing I would notice, but these are young people saying this. Are they all snowflakes?”

It only goes to show that the only thing these three morons love is the sound of their own voice. They don’t give a shit about their viewers and the safety and health of their viewers. All they care about is shouting into the wind and trying to make everything political.

There are millions of people who suffer from asthma. There are millions of people who suffer from COPD. There are millions of people who suffer from heart conditions. These people are going to be affected the most. Not to mention the elderly whose breathing is not what it was when we were younger.

These people are NOT “snowflakes”. They are living beathing people who don’t deserve to be denigrated by some clown who thinks he is superior to everyone else. These people do need to wear masks when they go outside in order to attempt to keep their lungs functioning.

There have been many instances of what is known as “killer smog” in the world. The most famous was London when the Industrial Revolution really started heating up. During that time, the smog was so bad the sun barely broke through it. Hundreds of thousands of people died due to this smog.

It is air pollution that is one of the major contributing factors in people developing asthma. Not the only factor, but one of the major factors. And, if someone has severe asthma, this kind of smog or air pollution can be deadly.

My granddaughter lives outside New York City in New Jersey. She works in New York City. She also has severe asthma. I spoke to her last night just to see how she is doing with this pollution. She told me the night before when she was going home from work, it was so bad she actually wore a respirator instead of a mask because the mask wasn’t good enough to protect her.

She is a young woman who is far more intelligent, far more reasonable, far more talented than any of the three morons on Fox News telling her she didn’t need to wear a mask.

We must also remember that it was Richard Nixon, when he was president, who started the Environmental Protection Agency. Why? Because air pollution and water pollution were getting so bad the health of every American was in danger. Oh, he was a Republican, not some “lib” trying to save the planet.

We have seen Fox News personalities do this before. They complained when the wildfires raged in California and other states when trump was in office. They complained about safety regulations during the COVID pandemic. They are now complaining about safety regulations as people are struggling to breathe because of the pollution caused by wildfires.

Wildfires as we all know are natural things that happen. Yes, global warming is making them worse because of droughts getting worse around the world. But, even disregarding those reasons for them, we cannot put down safety measures intended to protect the health of our people. Isn’t that what we are supposed to do? Aren’t we suppose to do what we need to protect people, especially the vulnerable?

According to these clowns at Fox News, apparently not. We are supposed to disparage them and make them feel ashamed to wear a mask to protect themselves. I guess if we do that enough, then the so-called “weak and undesirables will simply die and make us stronger”. We can look back through history and know just who believed that as well.

I have come to the conclusion that this is not just about Fox News personalities trying to be political about everything. No, I have come to believe they are trying to make every health crisis political so they can help kill us off. What else can explain this stupid, crazy and reckless behavior by them every time we have a potential health crisis?

The personalities at Fox News continuously remind us they totally lack any decency, integrity, honesty or morality. What they are is evil with a microphone. Shame on them.

The Toxic GOP – Part Two

In order to see exactly what is going on, we need to look back at our history. The second part of this is all about discrimination. Discrimination has many ugly faces. The primary discrimination has been the systemic racism that has permeated our society even before we became a nation.

A look at the history of racism is not hard to find. We were a nation of slaves up to the end of the Civil War. After the Civil War we had states pass systemic racist laws to keep blacks from voting, receiving proper education and other rights that they claimed were for “whites only”.

We must also remember that the Republican Party was founded in 1854 in Massachusetts. It was formed as an abolitionist party that favored the ending of slavery and civil rights for all of our people. Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican elected to be President on an abolitionist platform. It was his election that led to the Civil War.

Of course, the states that were most guilty of these racist practices were the southern states that made up the old confederacy. And, we must also note that it was Democrats in these states that were in charge and passing these discriminatory laws. There were poll taxes, tests, and other measures intended to ensure that blacks were not allowed to vote.

The Jim Crow laws made it illegal for a black person to sit in a seat in the front of the bus. They made it illegal for blacks to sit in train cars that has white people. They made it illegal for blacks to use certain restrooms or stay at hotels. They forced segregation in every aspect of life in the south. And, it was Democrats, known as “Dixiecrats” who passed these laws and made life miserable for anyone not white.

However things did start to change in the 1950s. First President Truman issued an executive order desegregating our military. Then the Supreme Court ruled that desegrated schools was unconstitutional. And remember, it was Republican President Eisenhower who sent in the troops to Little Rock, AR to ensure the Supreme Court ruling was upheld at public schools.

In the 1950s the Civil Rights movement went into full swing. And, it was Republicans who championed the movement and the end of segregation. Then, in 1964 the Civil Rights Bill and the Voting Rights Bill passed and President Johnson signed them into law. When he signed these bills, he turned to one of his advisors and said: “We just lost the south for a generation” meaning votes and support.

In 1968, Richard Nixon decided to run for President again and he began what he called the “southern strategy”. He knew that all of the segregationists in the south could be won over by the Republican Party if they just used the right wording and what we now call “dog whistles”. His strategy worked and now states in the south that were very strongly Democratic are not very strongly Republican.

What caused this switch? Well the fact that Democrats started believing in equal rights for all. And, the idea that Republicans were now the party willing to tolerate discrimination and racism in order to gain votes.

If you look at our nation today, we see that the states who were so strongly against equality for blacks are the very same states who are strongly against equal rights for anyone who is different from them. Since Nixon, Republicans have used the “dog whistles” to encourage those favoring discrimination to vote for them.

At first it was used against blacks. Ronald Reagan used the term “welfare queen” as a dog whistle against blacks. He ignored the fact that more white women were on welfare than black women. But every example he used was targeting black women as being lazy and looking for a handout.

Republicans have used these dog whistles for decades now. But, that discrimination has gone beyond racism. I firmly believe that any form of discrimination against any group of people is the same thing as racism. I may get criticized for that belief, but discrimination against anyone is just as bad as the systemic racism blacks have faced in this country since 1609.

Republicans have decided that discrimination is good for them. If they use discrimination as a tool, they can gather the supremacists votes and win elections. As a result, they have enlarged the discrimination process to include many other groups of people. They call this discrimination platform “culture wars”.

In essence, they are right in calling them “culture wars” because what they are doing is trying to set up a society that is willing to discriminate against anyone who does not follow the traditional white supremacist mantra of protecting “white culture”. As a result, the number of groups of people in the crosshairs of this systemic discrimination has grown.

These include blacks, women, immigrants, Asian-Americans, Muslims, Hindus, and especially LGBTQ. These are groups that don’t fit into the “white culture” that today’s Republicans believe should be protected. And, since the rise of donald trump, white supremacy has become part of the Republican platform and it has done so openly.

Instead of Democrats like Strom Thurman or George Wallace, we now have Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz and Paul Gossar taking their place. There are many more, but these are the three main characters behind trump.

This systemic discrimination is being played out in Republican states across the nation. In the last few years we have seen Republican Legislatures remove the civil rights of several groups of people. We have seen an increase in voter suppression laws. We have seen laws banning abortion. We have seen bans against medical treatment for transgender minors, even with parental approval. We have seen bans against Drag Shows. We have seen, even more disturbingly, bans on books and even the state of Florida deciding what parts of history can be taught in schools.

The fact is that right after right have been stripped from citizens based on the systemic racism that today’s Republicans favor as what is supposed to be the norm. Over the weekend, a white supremacist group marched through Washington, D.C. When I was young, it was Republicans who would speak out against such actions. Today, they are the ones supporting them.

Too many Republicans, like the old Dixiecrats of the past, are seen speaking with white supremacists. They attend white supremacist rallies. They throw out hate and anger at non-whites on twitter. And, the Republicans do nothing to stop this madness.

According to today’s Republican Party we are supposed to be a nation of white people. We are supposed to be a nation of straight white people. We are supposed to be a nation where white men decide what is best for everyone else including women.

It is this strong desire by Republicans that have allowed the systemic racist and systemic discrimination laws to be passed. And, since they were able to “stack the Supreme Court” with people who agree with this premise, it is very difficult to overturn these discriminatory laws.

Our Declaration of Independence says that “all men are created equal”. Our Constitution begins with “We the people in order to form a more perfect Union”. Of course, today’s Republican Party, like the old Dixiecrats, believe those words only pertain to straight white males.

It has always been said that if we fail to learn from our history we are doomed to repeat it. I guess that is why Republicans in places like Florida want to strip out the things from our history that might teach their children that slavery, racism and hate are wrong. They don’t want our children to learn from history, they want to repeat the evil parts of our history and call it “normal”.

When our nation began, the hatred was focused on blacks. Since then, that list of who to hate has grown and grown. We have added people like Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Asians, Mexicans, Latin Americans, Women and especially LGBTQ. But, that list is not complete, yet. You can bet that others will soon find their way onto the list.

Look at the fight going on in Florida between the state and Disney. This is the result of Disney saying they were against the state’s “don’t say gay” bill. How dare a private company speak out against the supremacists in government in the state?

The Ayatollah DeSantis has started a war against the company that brings in the majority of tax dollars to the state. They are the largest employer in the state. They bring in the most tourist dollars to the economy. Yet, just because they didn’t like this law, they must be punished by the Ayatollah and his politburo legislature.

That is a perfect example of just how toxic this party has become. They are very willing to bite the hand that feeds them just because that company doesn’t believe in systemic racism and discrimination. Today’s Republican Party has openly declared that white supremacist ideology is what we should believe in and if we don’t, we must pay the consequences even if we feed the economy better than anyone else.

This systemic racism and systemic discrimination may have its roots in the south, but it has spread to other parts of the country as well. For that matter, it has spread to anywhere Republicans control the state government. I guess that just proves that power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely.

That whirring sound you hear coming from the Midwest is Abraham Lincoln spinning in his grave. He would never have believed that his party would do a complete 180 and trade in their humane beliefs for systemic discrimination just to get votes.
